The Middle East Film & Comic Con 2012

Sqrall.com had the honor to witness the first ever Middle East Film & Comic Con in the Middle East this weekend in Dubai. The 2-day event has been hotly anticipated in the Middle East for months and drew fans from far and wide. Like all Comic Cons a dazzling array of celebrities was promised and delivered which truly delighted the crowds. One of the highlights was seeing how many people were in the Comic Con spirit by dressing up as there favorite characters from movies, games and comic book heroes. 

The event was buzzing with excitement from the moment the doors opened on the first day to the moment they closed on the second day. The event came and went all too quickly for most but showed the Middle East is hungry for more Comic Cons in the future. Some of the stalls and displays were quite incredible. The workshops were first class and the atmosphere was friendly and upbeat all the time. Young and old enjoyed themselves at this wonderful event and surely this is only the beginning of a Comic Con culture across the Middle East in the coming years.

Sqrall will be looking forward to the next Comic Con around the world with anticipation, as we need to be at these events every day! Held at the very impressive Mina Siyahi Hotel at the Dubai International Marina the setting couldn’t be better with glorious weather and incredible yachts in the harbor. From Princess Leia’s to Chewbacca’s, Anime stars to Lord of the Rings fans were out in force.
