CELEBRITY COLLECTOR - JONATHAN ROSS
Jonathan Ross is one of Britains most loved TV personalities. Jonathan rose to fame as a Radio and TV presenter starring in some of the most watched TV shows on British TV. His climb up the success ladder has culminated in him hosting the BBC One chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. His friendly and witty manner is applauded by most of the top names in Britain and America who gladly join him on set on his show. On his show he has often commented on his love of collecting especially with fellow geek Simon Pegg. Their banter on the show is quite wonderful and you can tell they both have a shared love of the geek world.
Jonathan Ross began collecting comics and memorabilia when he was young and his collection is very impressive. His enthusiasm for comics stretches even beyond the colecting world as he has even taken to writing and producing his own comic book called 'Turf' by Image series with Tommy Lee Edwards. Jonathon Ross can often be seen on the Comic Book circuit at events and shows around the UK. In April 2010 he was interviewed by CBR (Comic Book Resources) where he mentions his childhood love of Comic Books claiming he was the original Peter Parker that wasn't bitten by the spider.
Clearly passionate about Comic Books he talks about how he has always been passionate about them and is very well known around the Comic Book circuit interviewing the likes of Neil Gaiman and other Comic Book legends. Jonathons knowledge of Comic Books is evident just as much as his passion. In the interview Jonathon even talks about his attempt at owning a Comic Book store once which didn't work out as planned. This just shows the love that Jonathon has always had for Comic Books and the memorabilia that he also collects.
Like most comic book fans he always wanted to be part of the Comic Book industry and after many younger attempts to create comic books, which he ridicules in the Comic Book Resources interview, about how he finally came up with the idea of Turf, his very own Comic Book. What is great watching the interview is the excitement Jonathon has that comes across. There is nothing greater in the Comic Book word or in the collecting world than seeing someone who is passionate about what they collect. We are looking forward to seeing more of Turf and hopefully one day meeting Jonathon Ross on the Comic Book circuit.
