We live in an age where very few things sem to last very long any more. It has been called the 'disposable era' where we throw away items after a short while and think nothing of it. It's not just cheap items either, as people seem to change mobile phones, for example, at an ever-increasing rate of time. So it is refreshing to see something that has latest, if not gained more fans over the years, 45 years. So congratulations Star Trek! Stand up and take a bow.

Legends of the Comic Cons and Star Trek expo's the original cast have become cult icons. Its actually hard to find people who don't know who they are, or were as the case may be. Because if anything is going to last any amount of time, it has to know how to re-invent itself. And no brand has managed to re-invent itself quite the way that Star Trek has done over the years.

Through every incarnation of Star Trek the brand has managed to dazzle. The choice of cast has always been great and I have never really had an issue with any character through out the years. Even the latest cast and crew I think pulled off what must be quite a daunting task, a wonderful film packed with all the drama and humor you expect from the Star Trek brand. I especially thought Zachary Quinto, who played Spock, was superb. Then again I thought he was great in Heroes as well.

The Star Trek brand is more than just an entertainment show in my opinion. It asks fundamental questions about who we are? Why we are here? and Are we alone? The brand has managed to keep us captivated through the entire 45 years with possibiity and opportunity held out right in front of us, like a carrot in front of a donkey! And we love it!

So, here the brand sits at 45 years, an accomplishment that really does meet the mission mandate of the starship enterprise and we hope that for years to come, like in the next installment, the Star trek brand continues To boldly go where no brand has gone before!
